I think wat et meant was.. if u want to change engine sound.. you should go for the open pod air filter.. a k&n drop in would have the same effect to a different degree.. my advise.. experiment.. I love K&N cone air filters..simple attachment.. simple maintenance.. can even get a washable unit..

i'm using pipercross as well, engine runs smoother. i will choose pipercross over k&n cos i no need to buy cleanin kit to clean the air filter, just flush with pipe water n let it dry by itself. it's simple if compare with the cleaning for k&n.

p/s: this cleaning procedure only applies to those didnt applies the dirt retention spray to the filter.

Pipercross is sufficient.
Please be more specific, you refering to sound created by the filter or from the exhaust?

If you were refering to the exhaust, easy , modify your exhaust system, ie. extrator, pipings, 'tabungs' and etc.

if engine sound then definitely go with the air filter..if exhaust then do what nick said..just carefull not to go for too big piping for exhaust..

too big exhaust piping=no back preasure+vacum=power loss+bigger fuel cost

dunno which one u speaking of..but mine is plain washable..hot water soak for 1 minute..hose with water (light to medium preasure..no preasure gun please)..shake access water and let dry in the shade..
