Hello Terence,
With RM600 you can change the HU and speakers as well.
There are wide variety of HU around and some acc. Shops have packages where you can get to change the HU and speakers as well. Do visit the acc shops more often. I cannot recommend you which brand as it is up to your own choice or preference. Friends in K2 here often go with Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and others. What I can recommend you is join the TT and have a look into the settings and ask for advise. We are like brothers and we definitely will advise you on this...

I think 1st think u need to do is change your headunit and your speakers to component speakers. For a starter,alpine 9841 is around your budget for the headunit. And you can change your speaker to components speakers ads 236is which is around rm500 by some forumner in www.zerotohundred.com. Some ice shop is selling RM850 plus installation. Go check it out,its a good sq speakers. CV Audio ampang seem to be a good place to start as i find the boss there is more honest compare to a lot of ice shop.

COMPONENT SPEAKER --> 1 pair of mid , 1 pair or tweeter and 1 pair of crossover set...
SONY BRAND --> not goodlah..very sensitive player..not suitable for pirated cd buyer...
BROTHERS SPEAKER --> all from china and cannot tahan long...
AVERAGE HU --> RM400 u can buy Kenwood/Pioneer and JVC player oredi...
UPTOWN ACCESSORIES --> all potong kepala gang...

want good stuff...just pm me...

tt = tea tarik = yam cha talk kok time
component speakers = 1 pair each for tweeter,mid n passive crossover
sony brand is only good when you intend to take the most top model which will cost u a few thousand.
I would recomend u to take apline 9841 around rm600,sq wise not bad for a start unless u wanna go for high end stuff like alpine F#1 status Hu which will easily cost u RM8k.

Lets say i 1 2 add pioneer 5850 into my kelisa and would like to change the stock speakers behind. In future My ICE system can expand somemore? what is the meaning of 50x4??? the 4 is what?

I would like to change to better 6 x 9 to replace the stock speakers. just curious in future will the HU i choose will limit my upgrading.

Which u guys will get?

1) 5850 = rm 780
2) 5750 = rm 650
3) 4850 = rm 680

which one worth of money. And any average 6x9 speakers to recommand? brand wise? which brand to aviod?

I'm using 5750 in my car.
So far i'm happy with the feature.

To answer your question: what is the meaning of 50x4???
4 means the number of channels. That means, 50W for 4 channels already been set on the HU itself.

As from the explaination of the brochure taken from the official site,
it goes as:

To minimize voltage loss in its head unit amplifiers, Pioneer built in high-performance Power MOSFET integrated circuitry that processes signals efficiently at 50W X 4 maximum total output.

High Speed MOSFET switching reduces distortion to virtually nothing at high frequency ranges, thanks to superior characteristics of linearity that smooth the signal transmission path from input to output. Pioneer's independent routing of input and output current is essential to obliterating distortion.

High power of 50W per channel and characteristics of the bonding wire ensure excellent sound quality. The 99.99% pure OFC (Oxygen-free Copper) bonding wire has low electrical resistance, so minimal electric power is lost as heat in the IC chip, enhancing power handling efficiency as well as sound quality.

I believe 5750 is on 2005 model and 5850 is a newer model for 2006.
I would suggest you to take the latter one as I believe there are additional features comparing to 5750 as well as the looks Smile

As for the 6X9 speakers, try opt for a higher range brand and not the chicken brand.. (hahaha) . It's cheaper comparing the the component set. Brand wise; up to you.

if i were u, i will go for the 5850

the limitation for this HU is it only have 2 preout. good enough for passive setup but if you want to go full active you will need to purchase an external active crossover.

on my previous 5650, the crossover point for sub is at 50,80 and 100 Hz. this give limitation for fine tuning thru the player. however you can always do it at the amplifier.

basically it is a good head unit for the price with MP3 feature. if it doesnt hurt your budget too much, just get it and enjoy.

one more thing. if you are using external amplifier, just forget about the HU internal amp power output. the 50W x 4 does not apply anymore.

HU with mp3 function normally is limited in its sq capacity,pure deck is still the best option. Smile
