I feel that the std exhaust system compromises between fuel consumption and performance. Any modification does not compromise both factors above but merely moves the equilibrium. Most of the time, I'd say most of the time, ppl who just for the sake of sporty sound tend to suffer high Fuel consumption and drop in low power band.
Alas, the saying is true to a certain extent. U get what U pay for. Spending a lot on branded aftermarket exhaust system does provide U with the desired result. After all these companies spend a lot on their R&D as in comparison with the 'Ayam' Brand aftermarket system, will make u suffer most of the time.
In conclusion, once u change the setup, u wont be able yo get the best out of both world. If u want power, be prepared to sacrifice F.C. It's all up to individual preference hence says the malay proverb "rambut sama hitam, hati lain-lain".

| Actually there are pro & cons in changing ur exhaust. the pros will be more power & the cons the fuel comsuption wil high. V easy if u want more power change it if u wan to save fuel don change. Tat's it no need to argue. the world is like tat there will be good & bad. It won balance 1

Yeah... gaining more power and consuming more fuel is very logical n balanced. More air + more fuel = more power and vice versa, more power = more air + more fuel required (in this case only... let's put fuel efficiency and other factor like newer engines, etc. aside, okies).

actually should make it more more air + more abit fuel = more power... then its real good for our engine... i feel that alot of our engines are burning too rich nowadays... but putting too much air would risk heating up our blocks too much also... sigh...

haha...now were back to square 1.... need to explain again, whether changing xtractors will consume more fuel .......
of course it will...like what most of us have mention....
more power=more fuel (this is only true when u have the right setup for ur mufflers, pipe size etc) .. to achieve this, u'll still need a gadget to control ur fuel a.k.a SAFC(blue screen,5button),E-manage.... this gadget is very useful....very very useful.....
a wrong setup like piping size too big, muffler inlet size not suitable with pipe size, too much restriction, imbalance inflow and outflow, poor fuel mapping (cos u change most of the exzos parts, ur engine standard fuel mapping are no longer suitable) will surely make ur car drink more fuel than it should...

very well explained here... if the extractor and entire exhaust system is wrongly designed, then you'll have to TEKAN TEKAN your MINYAK no matter at what driving conditions in order to attain power, thus increasing fuel consumption...

hehe, not so KENG like those bouncy-bouncy pneumatcis cars lar... your whole engine will be very shakky... then you'll feel alot of vibrations on your dash... then can often hear the whole exhaust system rattling below you... i think the flow in there is very much confused, thats why...
